Signature Destinations in Raleigh

Nestled in the heart of Raleigh, the Five Points neighborhood is a vibrant blend of history, culture, and community spirit. This charming area, known for its distinctive character and eclectic mix of attractions, offers visitors a unique taste of the city’s best. There are older homes with character. New construction with all of the modern features. Big lots. Close communities. Outdoor activities. A number of my clients that are currently relocating here from other states have set their eyes on this highly desirable area of Raleigh called ITB or Inside the Beltline. It's just minutes to downtown Raleigh, an abundance of shopping, nightlife, incredible restaurants, museums, highways and Wegmans. And if you're from the North...you know what I'm talking about when it comes to Wegmans.

Whether you’re a local looking for new adventures or a traveler exploring Raleigh for the first time, Five Points is a must-visit destination. Here, I highlight six signature spots that capture the essence of this beloved neighborhood.

Rialto Theatre: Step back in time at the Rialto Theatre, a vintage cinema that has been delighting moviegoers since 1942. With its nostalgic ambiance and a lineup of independent and classic films, the Rialto provides a cinematic experience like no other. Whether you’re attending a special screening or a midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, this historic theater is a cultural cornerstone of Five Points.

Lilly's Pizza: Known for its creative and organic toppings, Lilly's Pizza is a local favorite that promises a unique and flavorful dining experience. This pizzeria’s commitment to using fresh ingredients and offering vegan and gluten-free options ensures that there’s something delicious for everyone. The quirky, laid-back atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for a casual meal with friends or family.

The Third Place Coffee Shop: Serving as a community hub, The Third Place Coffee Shop is more than just a café. It’s a welcoming space where people come together to relax, work, and connect. With its cozy seating, art-filled walls, and an extensive menu of coffees, teas, and pastries, it’s the ideal spot to unwind or get inspired.

Hayes Barton Cafe & Dessertery: This nostalgic eatery is renowned for its hearty American comfort food and decadent desserts. At Hayes Barton Cafe & Dessertery, every meal feels like a special occasion. The café’s retro decor and friendly service, combined with its towering cakes and creamy pies, make it a beloved dining destination in Five Points. If you've not had a dessert from here yet I need you to run there right now. Literally run. And then walk back.

Roanoke Park: For those seeking a breath of fresh air, Roanoke Park offers a tranquil retreat within the city. This lush green space is perfect for a leisurely stroll, a family picnic, or a day of play with kids and pets. Its well-maintained pathways and scenic beauty provide a serene escape from the urban hustle.
